Our mission is to help adults with disabilities to become productive workers gaining marketable
work skills, improved self-confidence, and increased independence. CTC employees learn and earn working on jobs in light assembly, sorting, packaging, inspection
and cleaning, custodial contracts, apparel sewing, embroidery, screening,
and other work assignments. We are located three miles east of Hazleton in the community of Beaver Meadows. CTC has been in operation since 1970, moving from Jim Thorpe to Beaver Meadows in 1987 to our current building with more than 17,000 square feet of production space and warehouse capacity. We manage a clothing store on-site at the Keystone Job Corps Center in Drums providing uniforms and other apparel for students. The Carbon Training Center is funded through workshop production, fee-for-service from the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), Carbon-Monroe-Pike Mental Heath/Mental Retardation Program (MH/MR), the Schuylkill County MH/MR, through campus store sales, contributions from the United Way of Carbon County, The Greater Weatherly Area Community Chest, and donor gifts. |
